The Next Chapter...

This blog was created to keep my family and friends informed of all of my new adventures in the sunshine state. Not everyone has a facebook, so this is an alternative. I hope to post weekly updates- feel free to follow along as I conquer my freshman year of college at Hope International University in Fullerton California!!

Getty Museum

On Saturday (9/18), Natalie and I loaded the bus with other Hope students at 9:30 AM for a day trip to the Getty Museum in LA. It was so much fun! I learned a lot and enjoyed all of the beautiful elements of the Museum including the gardens.

Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed Be Your Name

In the land that is plentiful

Where Your streams of abundance flow

Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name

When I'm found in the desert place

Though I walk through the wilderness

Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out

I'll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in, Lord

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name

When the sun's shining down on me

When the world's 'all as it should be'

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name

On the road marked with suffering

Though there's pain in the offering

Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out

I'll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in, Lord

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away

You give and take away

My heart will choose to say

Lord, blessed be Your name

Angels Game!

As a "random act of kindness", my school bought all of the students tickets for an Angel game. The opponent just so happened to be the Mariners! We didn't stay the whole 15 innings that it took the for the Angels to beat the Mariners, but we had a blast! Here are a few pictures from the game...

Strengths Quest

In my "foundations" class, mandatory for all freshman, we had to take a 30 minute test answering questions about ourselves. The goal was to discover our "5 strengths" in order to become better acquainted with them and use them more effectively. These were mine:

Discipline: Your world needs to be ordered and planned. You set up routines and focus on timelines and deadlines. This is your instinctive method for maintaining your progress and your productivity.

Empathy: You can sense the emotions of those around you. You can feel what they are feeling as if their feelings are your own.

Harmony: You look for areas of agreement. In your view there is little to be gained from conflict and friction, so you seek to hold them to a minimum.

Individualization: Your individualization theme leads you to be intrigued by the unique qualities of each person. You instinctively observe each person's style, each person's motivation, how each thinks, and how each builds relationships.

Restoration: You can quickly determine the problems and weaknesses in people. You enjoy the challenge of analyzing the symptoms, identifying what is wrong, and finding the solution.

These seem to be somewhat accurate and I want you to learn more about me! Let me know your opinion :-)

Clash-N-Bowl

One of our events during the first week of school was the clash-n-bowl. Basically, everyone dresses really goofy and we all go bowling! It was a great way to end the first week of classes.

Santa Monica

Before moving in, I was able to go to the Santa Monica Pier with mom and Dee! We rode the ferris wheel, walked in the sand, and shopped at third street. Here are some pictures!
